This post is going to be very meta in some regards, and it’s going to touch on a few things that deal with the WoW community’s very existence. We’ve written this article in hopes that it might help calm the waters, or at least bring some will on the part of the multitudes of individuals not to jump on the wrong bandwagon.
If you’ve been paying attention to the role forums and the “Ghostcrawler drama” this past week, you know what I’m talking about. If not, we’ll begin with a brief

After a long bit of extended maintenance last night for patch 3.3, and after fighting with add-ons and general instability, many players were greeted with a familiar and disappointing message from sever.
Additional instances cannot be launched, please try again later.
Heads exploded, babies cried, and anarchy ensued as people once again saw this dreaded error. We’ve been told for months that the cross-server instances and

Reader comments — ahh, yes, the juicy goodness following a meaty post. [1.Local] ducks past the swinging doors to see what readers have been chatting about in the back room over the past week.

Neophyte warrior Meryl of Aman’Thul has a story to tell. While waiting for a three-hour tour from Booty Bay to Ratchet, Meryl glitched out, force-quit the game, and ended up in a no man’s land underneath Arathi Highlands. “Arathi!? How bizarre!” she writes “But it doesn’t end there. So I resurrect just outside Hammerfall, fearful for my life at the hand of its fearsome guards … and find that there aren’t any. Giordano posted about Trev and Eroth: Desperate Measures over at Myndflame. This is just the trailer for the movie, but it has the benefit of mostly being made up from actual footage. The reason that’s a big deal, if you don’t already know, is that many machinima trailers use slices and snippets from in-game footage or other movies that are never actually repeated in the machinima itself. This technique is usually use to give the author a springboard into inspiration, and help them get their thoughts together.

Rufus on Livejournal reminds us that one year ago as of November 13th, Wrath of the Lich King first came into our lives. That means it’s been one full year since we had our launch events, since death knights first became free of the Lich King’s control, and since we first stepped foot in Dalaran. It’s the one year anniversary of our arrival at Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord, the addition of Inscription to the game, and
